Govt to offer interest free loans to special persons: Governor

Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafique Rajwana said on Tuesday the government was evolving a plan to provide interest-free loans to special persons with an objective to empower them economically and make them useful citizens of the country.

Talking to special persons at the local circuit house, he said that Rs 2 billion had been earmarked for financial assistance of the special persons and khidmat cards had been issued for this purpose.

In Multan, over 6,000 special persons will get financial benefit under the khidmat cards scheme, he said and added that special persons’ job quota had also been increased.

He also lauded the efforts of Society for Special Persons (SSP) for the cause of special persons. He said that Pakistan was the 6th biggest country in the world. The progress of any country is linked with its courageous people, he said. Often, parents tried to conceal disability of their kids but there was a need to empower them economically and to put their energies into action for the progress of the country, he added.
