CDA tells SC commercial activities in residential areas curtailed

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday submitted the report regarding commercial activities in residential areas of the capital.

In report, the apex court was informed that commercial activities have reduced from 1,695 to 1,339 adding that commercial activities in 365 residential houses have been ended and sealed the public secretariats of political parties including Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan

The Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-Q established in residential areas.

It was also told in the report that political parties including All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N) have closed their secretariats voluntarily.

“The office of PPP could not be vacated so far owing to resistance by the occupants so far while CDA have issued notices to 1,339 residential units allegedly involve in commercial activities in residential areas”, the report concluded.
