Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and lawmakers of the AJK government on Tuesday protested in front of Parliament House in Islamabad, demanding the federal government remove Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjees Tahir from his position.

The protesting lawmakers also accused the federal government of using funds of Kashmir Council for pre-poll rigging. Majeed demanded the federal government to release funds of the Kashmir Council without any further delay. He said that their funds are being distributed among federation’s favorite people in AJK that is insult of the PM elected by the mandate of people.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal assured the protesting lawmakers of AJK government that the federal government would address their grievances and a three-member committee comprising opposition leader Khurshid Shah, Ahsan Iqbal and AJK Finance Minister Chaudhry Latif Akbar would be formed to look into the issue of release of Kashmir Council funds.
