Wapda employees staged a protest demonstration outside the press club against government plan about possible its privatisation here on Tuesday.

On the call of the central leaders of Wapda, workers held the protest demos opposite the cantonment Railway Station. The demonstrators were carrying banners and placards inscribed with anti-privatisation slogans. They were also chanting their full-throat slogans against the federal government for possible privatisation.

Speaking on the occasion, leaders of the workers said the prime minister had assured the central leaders of Wapda for not privatising it on November 19, 2015. A committee was constituted in this regard headed by the federal minister for water and power to ensure the commitment of the prime minister but despite passage of two months. They demanded of the government to withdraw privatisation plan.
