MQM leader sees conspiracy behind City’s sanitary woes

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Kunwar Naveed Jamil on Monday said that Karachi was made to reel under sanitary woes under a pre-meditated conspiracy.

Addressing a meeting of MQM workers at Lal Qila ground, Jamil said that the city’s sanitary woes were meant to avenge the success of MQM candidates in the recent local government elections.

He demanded that legal and constitutional measures be taken to get the powers back, and warned that if these efforts failed, then with the help of the people, rights would be secured.

He said that manholes were being choked and roads blocked to throw citizens into a chaotic situation and made them suffer on a daily basis. He alleged that this was all designed under a conspiracy to teach a lesson to the people of Karachi for voting in favour of the MQM. He asked the elected representatives to brace for solving the problems faced by the people.

Naveed also asked the people to lodge complaints if any person took law into their hands under the garb of being a member or activist of the MQM. Such complaints could be lodged with the Nine-Zero, the Muttahida headquarters, he added.
