As the death toll from malnourishment in drought-hit Thar climbed to 54, Chief Minister’s Adviser for Information Maula Bux Chandio said on Monday the Sindh government should not be held responsible for deaths of children in the remote district.
“Death of any individual, be it a child, is entirely Almighty’s will,” he remarked, adding the government should not be held responsible for it.
He contended that although life in Thar was not at all easy, the infant mortality rate had lowered in the district and adjoining areas as compared to last year’s casualties.
Chandio further said that newspapers frequently published stories about children deaths in Thar, but what the government could do possibly after a child passed away in a remote Thar village.
Thisugly man, entire PPP & the Federal government all are responsible for this on going tragedy in Thar. None of them know what shame & responsibility means.
"Death of any individual is entirely Almighty's will". It is. A good explanation. Why children on the other side of Thar (India) are not dying and there is no starvation either. If deaths are Almighty's will – under whatever circumstances – then why so much fuss about ZAB and BB's deaths ? Last week he said the deaths are due to ignorance and carelessness of the the illiterate mothers.
