Four more children died of malnourishment in drought-hit Tharparkar district on Monday, taking the death toll to 54 during the last 18 days.
According to details, a newborn and a five-month-old baby girl were among the four children who breathed their last at Civil Hospital Mithi.
More than 95 children are under treatment at different hospitals of Tharparkar, while many children have already been shifted to Hyderabad owing to their critical condition.
On Sunday, one-month-old Zeenat died of malnutrition at Civil Hospital Mithi and a four-month-old in Taluka Hospital Chachro.
Meanwhile, the Health Department said that four teams had been sent to far-flung areas of Thar to treat the malnourished children.
A 15-month-old child Bheem Ram died before reaching Islam Kot Hospital on January 8. Some 17 children had died of malnutrition by the first week of this month.
