The schedule of flights from Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) was badly affected due to foggy weather conditions, a spokesperson of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Tuesday.
“Over a dozen inbound and outbound flight schedules were canceled due to dense fog in the federal capital since the small hours on Tuesday,” Fariha Shah said.
In the meantime, she said that a number of incoming flights were diverted to Karachi, Lahore and other airports as they were unable to land at the BBIA while the passengers of those outbound flights were provided either accommodation or were directed to recheck their respective flight schedule.
Expressing the hope, she said that the weather conditions are showing improving trends and the regular flight operation would start around mid-day.
