At least six more suspected swine flu patients on Monday were brought to Nishtar Hospital, taking the number to 42.
According to the hospital administration, 20 patients were tested positive while test reports of 18 others have not yet been issued yet. Four patients suffering from the disease have died until now in Multan.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the provincial cabinet committee on health to take every possible measure for control of swine flu in the province.
In a directive issued on Monday, he directed the committee members to supervise the measures taken to control the diseases and check the facilities provided at hospitals for this purpose. The chief minister directed to adopt all precautionary measure and run public awareness campaign regularly.
