A youth died while two others seriously wounded after being brutally tortured by son of an influential landlord here on Saturday.

Accused Rasib Ali, son of an influential landlord along with his accomplices attempted to kidnap an orphan girl in Kot Rehm of Mandi Bahauddin but hearing the hue and cry of the girl, locals reached the scene and forced the culprits to flee from the scene.

Later the key accused and his eight cohorts barged into house of a local who had hurdled the kidnapping attempt and brutally tortured the residents. As a result, Ali Hasnain, Zain Ali and Naeem Akhtar got injured and were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Phalia where Ali Hasnain succumbed to his wounds.

Meanwhile, three robbers snatched cash worth Rs 49,460 and mobile phone from a citizen in broad daylight from a citizen Mumtaz near Mughalpura area of Phalai and fled from the scene.

The police after registering separate cases in both incidents at respective police stations have started the efforts to arrest the culprits.
