Governor for improving services in emergency wards

Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana Saturday directed the health officials to improve services in emergency wards of all hospitals in the city.

He was presiding over a meeting here at Circuit House, which was attended by officials from health and building departments, administration and local parliamentarians.

The governor urged the health officials to be polite with patients and their attendants during treatment. He said that patients and their attendants visit hospitals in a state of worry and they must be dealt politely and with responsible attitude.

He also stressed upon officials of building department to complete ongoing projects at the earliest so that masses should be facilitated timely. He, however, warned that any delay in the completion of projects would not be tolerated. He also ordered for early provision of machinery to kidney hospital as well as gas connection so that the hospital should be made functional as early as possible. He also set February as deadline for the completion of Children Complex.

Principal Nishtar Medical College Kamran Salik apprised the governor that they needed a lecture theatre in Nishtar medical college for facility of students. MS Nishtar hospital Dr Aashique informed the governor that they were working on six uplift schemes in Nishtar hospital and hoped that these would be completed very soon.

Later, the Punjab governor inspected metro bus project and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work. On this occasion, a delegation of newly-elected members of District Bar Association also met the governor.
