The district administration has decided to launch a drive against child labour in Rawalpindi.
Rawalpindi District Coordination Office has directed assistant commissioners to make preparations and oversee the drive by launching a crackdown on child labour at bricks kilns, hotels, workshops and small and large industries.
Those found involved in child labour will not only be arrested but a hefty fine will also be imposed on them and their units will be sealed to discourage child labour, an official claimed. The violators will be undergoing a six month imprisonment besides paying a fine of Rs500, 000.
