In wake of presence of extremists in South Punjab, the provincial government has decided to carry out an operation against extremist elements in three districts of southern part of the largest province.
The Punjab government has sought gunship helicopter and Rangers personnel from federal government to conduct military operation in Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rahim Yar Khan districts.
Local media quoting officials reported that the decision to conduct military operation against emerging militant and extremists group has been finalised in a high-level meeting.
The secret agencies have information that these extremist have made alliance with criminal elements and this evil nexus could carry out terror and sectarian attacks in the country.
The Punjab government has sought help from federal government and requested to provide Sindh Rangers and FC Balochistan to fight with these extremists. The government wants to conclude this operation in two weeks to avoid public rage.
