Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad has directed all heads of police stations to properly maintain their record and utilize the official resources with honesty.

However, the IGP directed all Zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to compile their records properly and deal with complainants politely. He said misbehaviour would not be tolerated.

IGP also asked the supervising staff to address the problems of their subordinates as a gesture of encouragement which would improve efficiency. He also directed for taking effective steps to curb street crime, auto-theft cases and dacoities. “Strict vigilance should be ensured against suspects and community to be involved in policing affairs,” he added.

The IGP said those showing good performance would be encouraged and disciplinary action to be taken against sluggish police employees. He said that such visits would continue in the coming days and performance of police stations and offices to be reviewed.
