The finance ministry (FM) has decided to present budget for the next financial year of 2016-17 on May 27 in the parliament.
According to media reports, the finance minister will present budget before the federal cabinet on May 27 for approval and the budget will be tabled in the parliament on the same day after its approval by the cabinet. The FM has convened meeting of the National Economic Council in the first week of May to set the targets of federal development budget and economic growth. According to the FM, budget strategy paper will be presented in the first week of February for approval.
