NA passes Establishment of Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary Service Tribunal Bill, 2015

 

The National Assembly Thursday passed the establishment of the Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary Service Tribunal Bill, 2015.

The Senate has already adopted the bill. The establishment of subordinate judiciary service tribunal will give relief to the litigants to get relief against decisions of the Islamabad High Court.

The lower house of the parliament also passed a bill to further amend the Federal Judicial Academy Act, 1997, the Federal Judicial Academy Amendment Bill, 2015, it was also passed by the Senate.

The bills were moved by Minister for Law and Justice Senator Pervaiz Rashid.

Chairman Standing Committee on Railways Syed Naveed Qamar presented periodical report of the committee for the period from January, 2015 to June, 2015 as required by rule 234A of the rules of procedure and conduct of business in the NA.

According to statement of objects and reasons, the IHC was established under IHC Act, 2010.

Since its establishment, there is no subordinate judiciary service tribunal at Islamabad through which relief against the order of competent authority of IHC could be sought.

The CJ IHC has desired that steps may be taken for appropriate legislation for the establishment of Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary Service Tribunal.

The bill is designed to achieve the aforesaid objective. In standing committee on Railways in its report submitted to examine the encroached land of Pakistan railways in the country and to make recommendations and resolve the matter amicably.
