Ghulam Muhammad Abad police have booked a man here Thursday on charge of attacking the anti polio team.
A police spokesman told that anti-polio team was busy in administration anti-polio vaccine to the children near Kabotranwala Chowk when a citizen Abdur Rehman directed the team to stop giving polio vaccine to the children and leave the area immediately.
When the polio team did not pay any heed to the notion of the citizen, he attacked the team and thrashed polio worker Ali Dawood and his lady co-worker Rehana Bibi. On complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused
and started investigation.
Meanwhile, District Health Officer Dr. Nawazish Ali Goraya told APP that the polio teams are working safely across the district.
