People will reject corrupt PPP by voting for PML-N in AJK polls: Rashid

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Tuesday that the people’s vote for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the next election of Azad Jammu and Kashmir would be a rejection of the corrupt and inefficient Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government.

Addressing a workers’ convention of PML-N AJK chapter in Bhimber district, the minister said the PPP government was corrupt and inefficient, and now the people would hold it accountable for its misdeeds.

He urged the people to strengthen hands of Nawaz Sharif by voting the PML-N to power in AJK, saying his party’s manifesto had an agenda of prosperity and development for the state. He also said that mitigating sufferings of the Kashmiri people was the priority of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The PML-N, Rashid said, did not interfere in the working of the PPP’s provincial government, nor did it create any hurdles for it. He said his party had adopted the principle that it would accept the mandate of the people and give a free hand to the PPP in AJK. But, he added, those who were looting and oppressing the Kashmiris would be defeated in the polls.

The minister further said the Kashmiris had suffered for a long time and now was the time for them to put an end to their agony. He said the PML-N, when voted to power, would contest the case of Kashmiris at the international fora in a better manner. “We will win the case of Kashmiris and peace under the leadership of PM Sharif,” he added.

Rashid said Nawaz Sharif had persuaded the world that the resolution of Kashmir issue was essential for regional peace and world peace. He said Sharif was working to resolve the Kashmir issue as an advocate of the Kashmiri people. He further said that the message of youth of AJK was to bring in the PML-N and send off the government of PPP in the next election.
