Pakistan has proposed to initiate negotiations on Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with Afghanistan.
Speaking in the Senate on Wednesday, Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir said that a draft text of PTA had been shared with Afghanistan through diplomatic channels. The Afghan side is expected to convey its response this month.
Dastgir said the government had taken a series of steps to enhance bilateral trade with the neighbouring Afghanistan. He said that Joint Business Council comprising leading businessmen from both sides had been established to increase business interaction.
