Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar presided over a meeting of the committee set up regarding construction of theme park.
Lahore Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal, DG Parks and Horticulture Mian Shakeel, MD Tourism Ahmed Malik and Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade Aamina Zafar Cheema and senior officers of Irrigation Department, LDA and district administration attended the meeting. The meeting was told that 650 acres land has been identified at Sagian for theme park where recreational facilities of international standard, shopping mall and other commercial buildings will be constructed on the pattern of Disney land. Representatives of Chinese company will visit Lahore next month to finalise the matters for constructing theme park. The meeting was told that registration process of Chinese company has been completed in the Federal Board of Investment in Pakistan while other legal matters are being finalised.
Sarwar directed that Irrigation Department should complete hydraulic model study regarding protection from floods at the earliest for construction of theme park. He said that the process of acquiring land for theme park has been started and other measures are being taken speedily.
