Capital hospitals treat 53,284 patients in three months, Senate told

A total 53,284 patients of Tb, Hepatitis, Cardiology, Kidney and Thalassaemia have been treated in Pakistan Institute of Medical Science (PIMS), Federal Government Hospital (FGPC) and CDA hospital from June to August 2015.

In a written reply to the Senate, the Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that PIMS has treated 20,177 patients.

While, the minister said that the FGPC has treated 18,579 patients and CDA 14,528 patients in three months.

Tariq Fazal said the government has taken several steps to control the diseases in the federal capital adding that the FGPC hospital was providing free of cost medicine to the patients.

The minister said that diseases are prevented through health education. Instructions of doctors help in preventing diseases and their complications e.g. diseases, like TB, Hepatitis and Cardiac.

Tariq Fazal said that TB and Hepatitis vaccinations were also provided.

He said that CDA hospital has organized health promotion and prevention sessions for patients in which counseling was done to control diseases.
