Bilawal takes PPP Punjab to task over abysmal performance

Pakistan People’s Party Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday rebuked his party’s Punjab leadership for not working with dedication and over poor performance in the recent local government elections.

“If you people had done something (for the people), the party would not have suffered defeat in the LG elections in Punjab,” Bilawal contended while chairing a key party meeting at Bilawal House.

He made it clear to PPP Punjab leaders that “whosoever distances themselves from the masses will no longer be required in the party”, saying the poor still looked towards the PPP with hope but “you have no time for them”.

As the meeting was underway, senior PPP leader Raja Riaz urged Bilawal to pay a visit to Faisalabad as local people were looking forward to his visit. The PPP chief responded tersely, “Raja Sahib, I will surely visit Faisalabad, but would you tell me about your own performance.”
