The deputy superintendent of the Safe City Project has been injured in a firing incident, while resisting a robbery within the Sabzi Mandi police jurisdiction.
Safe City Project Deputy Superintendent Adeb Ahmed, lodged a complaint with the local police that unknown robbers that came on motorcycles waylaid him, held him hostage and made off with cash, cell phones and other valuables worth over Rs 50,000.
When he resisted the robbers shot his leg and fled the scene leaving him injured on the road.
He was rushed to a local hospital and provided with medical treatment.
The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
