A notorious robber was killed in exchange of fire with police while his cohorts managed to escape here on Tuesday.
DPO Malik Awais Ahmed said that on a tip-off regarding presence of criminals, a team of police conducted search operation in Alipur, Kaccha area of Muzaffargarh during which encounter took place.
In cross firing a notorious robber identified as Allayar alias Yari was killed while his accomplices managed to flee from the scene. The body was shifted to mortuary for postmortem.
Police said that the robber killed in fire exchange was wanted by police in more than two dozen cases of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robberies and others crimes.
