Lahore campus students to get BZU degree: Mashood

Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood has said that degrees issued by Bahauddin Zakariya University will be awarded to boy and girl students of Bahauddin Zakariya University Lahore Campus (BZU) without any academic loss. He said future of the students of BZU is secured. He said the committee constituted by chief minister is going to announce the decision regarding 11 campuses including BZU campus within next few days and it is the fact that the academic year of the boy and girl students of these campuses will be secured.

He expressed these views while talking to boy and girl students protesting at BZU Lahore Campus. Special Secretary Higher Education Tahir Yousaf, BZU Director Lahore Campus Munir Bhatti, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Mashhood said that the committee constituted by chief minister has taken necessary decisions after detailed discussion on all the matters regarding all the 11 campuses including BZU campus. He assured girl and boy students of BZU campus that they will be awarded degrees of the same university. Provision of degrees to students completing their academic session is top priority of Higher Education Department, he added. Replying to a question, Mashhood said the HEC will formally verify the degrees. He said students should not believe in any opinion or comments regarding the affected campuses including BZU campus as the decision taken by high powered committee will be final in this regard. Therefore, the students should pay full attention to their studies, he added.
