7 schemes worth Rs 14.73b approved for Punjab

The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party approved seven development schemeswith an estimated cost of Rs 14.73 billion.

These schemes were approved in the 23rd meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Board Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.

According to spokesman, the approved development schemes included: water supply pipeline extensions proposed on the existing schemes, District Bahalpur at the cost of Rs. 713.670 million, project preparation for Punjab Irrigated Agriculture Investment Programme (PIAIP) (PC-II) at a cost of Rs. 1017.000 million, construction of Papin Dam, Tehsil and District Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs 6023.873 million, widening of road from Kadhala to Malki via Aach to Ghulam Chowk to Kharana Tehsil Kharian, Gujrat at a cost of Rs 295.790 million, widening  of Lahore Jaranwala Faisalabad, Jhang Bhakkar Darya Khan Art-3 road at the cost of Rs 2116.184 million, construction of high-level bridge over River Jhelum at Langarwala Pattan to Sahiwal in Sargodha and Khushab at a cost of Rs 2195.071 million and construction of road and high-level bridge between District Mianwali and District Attock (Revised) at a cost of Rs 2369.674 million.
