Sindh food minister insists there is no drought in Thar;

Sindh Information Advisor Moula Bakhsh Chandio said on Sunday that it was on the record that not a single case based on ill-will or political vicitimisation was launched against anyone during the last tenure of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and during the previous tenure of the PPP and that not a single political worker had been put in jail.

Addressing a press conference along with Sindh Food Minister Nasir Hussain Shah at People’s Media Cell, the information advisor demanded accountability of the federal government as well.

Sindh Food Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said on the occasion that there was no draught in Thar.

The information advisor said that the PPP had always been open to accountability but there should be no political vicitimisation on the pretext of accountability.

Chandio said that a pack of frustrated elements had formed an alliance against the PPP. These elements had been elected but their victory in elections had always been engineered so that they could be used against the PPP. He said that the politics of 90’s was being resurrected. He said that Sindh is an important province and unrest here would lead to unrest in Punjab too. He said that Sindh and Punjab should not only be compared for the development but also the devastation.

Chandio said that the federal government only saw Punjab as a corner of heaven. He said that the government should focus all the provinces, not just one.

Nasir Shah said on this occasion that there was no drought situation in Thar. He said that recommendations had been finalised and would be sent to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

  1. Lo aur suno ! Chiragh tale andhera. The very smart 'adviser' has become smarter than the toothless Chief Minister. The Provincial Government of PPP has shamelessly failed to maintain L&O in a city which is economic hub of the country, and asking for accountability of the Federal Government. If it were not for the Rangers, this city would be burning by now. Better for them to set their own house in order before blaming others.
