Capital schools, colleges to be uplifted

Following the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to make capital’s educational institutions a role model for entire country, the ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has started work on the development of the city’s schools and colleges.

Talking to APP, an official from the ministry of CA&DD said that the ministry has assigned target to Capital Development Authority (CDA) to renovate these schools and colleges.

In this connection CDA in Phase-1, has started maintenance work in 23 schools and colleges of Islamabad, which would be completed till January 15, he added.

He said on the directives of the PM, all 422 schools of the capital would be made as a role model for the whole country including Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.

For the first time in Pakistan, montessori, a pre-school education system was being introduced in the public sector schools.

Initially montessori would be introduced in five schools which would be further expended to other school in the second phase.

In this regard the ministry of CADD was held a special meeting recently with internationals representatives from USAID, DFID, JICA, WFP, canadian programme cooperation in Pakistan and others.

Minister of State for CA&DD, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary appreciated the contribution of international development partners in Pakistan and said that government was introducing a complete reform programme for Islamabad which other provinces could replicate for themselves.

Sources from CA&DD told APP that 200 new buses were being purchased to provide better facility of transport to students of all schools and colleges of the federal capital.

Biometric attendance for teachers and students was being introduced and new science and IT labs were being developed.

  1. Pretty good news though these will also be ignored later on because they have such kind of the members in their govt. who don't want to see their countries to be on the route of progress and prosperity in real meaning.
