Retired police officer killed in fire

A retired officer of Islamabad Police was killed after a fire broke out at his flat within the Karachi company police jurisdiction.

According to police, Abdul Kareem Butt, 70, a retired superintendent of Islamabad police, was sleeping is his room with the gas heater on, when a bed-sheet caught fire. The fire badly wounded him before the rescue teams reached the scene and put out the fire. The victim was shifted to the PIMS’s burn centre, where he died while being treated.

The police handed over the body to victim’s family after medico legal formalities.
