A contempt of court plea has been filed in the Supreme Court against Prime Nawaz Sharif for delivering a speech in English during his recent visit to Sri Lanka.
An earlier petition was also filed against the PM for addressing the UN General Assembly in English
Petitioner Mian Zahid Ghani filed the petition on Saturday making the federal government and respective institutions respondents.
The petitioner has taken the plea that the PM during his visit to Sri Lanka delivered a speech in English instead of Urdu despite court orders which tantamount to contempt of court. The premier should be arraigned it prayed.
