Broadband technology for Quran teachers

The recent popularity of online Quran teaching is something I would like to bring to attention. Many of my relatives living in Canada and the US have often complained of no option for teaching proper recitation of the Holy Quran to their children. This act is a religious obligation for Muslims. It also ensures that the same culture and values are taught to our children living abroad.

With increased high speed internet and cheaper computer products, now a ‘qari sahib’ from Pakistan can teach Quran to Pakistani children all over the world using the latest information communication technology. This has helped the Muslim Pakistani parents a lot.

These days as wireless internet becomes more and more popular, children can learn how to recite the Quran from their qari sahib on their handheld laptop, iPads and iPhones. By using these new internet devices they can sit anywhere they like and with their headphones and wireless services take a personalised lesson anytime.

This service also helps our religious teachers to get financial benefits creating new opportunities for them. It opens a whole new market and service while also bringing in more foreign currency, for the country as a whole. A close friend of mine has in fact just started earning a reasonable income by teaching the Quran from his home to his students in Denmark using just his PTCL internet connection.

I would like to request that such services be further promoted and all internet providers make these services more efficient and affordable by improving their speed and service even more, especially in rural areas. It is an important service and one that is going to grow as the Pakistani population across the world also grows.
