Police and officials of intelligence agencies early Thursday morning took 27 suspects into custody during a search operation near Walton airport, Naseerabad and surrounding areas.
The operation included one Superintendent of Police (SP), two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) and Station House Officers (SHO) of five police stations along with a large number of officers.
The police were flanked by intelligence officials.
Officers checked the identification documents of residents, hotel guests and people residing in hostels. The documents were also verified online from NADRA on the spot.
Sources said individuals taken into custody have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. The search operation started at 3:00 am in the morning and continued for several hours.
