Statutory rape

Reference media reports about a rise in sexual offences and rape of minor girls, such as gang rape of 14-year-old, 8th grader girl belonging to a poor family of Lahore by a politically well-connected male adult Adnan Sanaullah. Does this not constitute statutory rape because this child had not yet reached the age where she can qualify to make decisions. If this was the child of an affluent political elite, would Punjab Police and its powerful CM allow Police IO and prosecutor to distort facts and paint it as consensual sex? Pakistan’s ruling elite must fear the wrath of Almighty and put an end to this license given to spoiled brats of rich and powerful to kill, rape and molest the poor. It seems in such incidences Punjab shares the same ignominy as Sindh, as far as facilitating rich and powerful to evade prosecution for heinous crimes such as murder and rape of innocent poor.
