Punjab Police to upgrade website

Punjab police have decided to upgrade its website to provide complete information to the people about criminals.

This decision was made in a meeting, presided over by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, held at Central Police Office on Wednesday.

The photographs of the criminals involved in robbery, dacoity and theft, besides, the POs and most wanted criminal by the police, will be uploaded at the website so that the people and departments can get authentic information about the person whom they intend to hire.

It was also decided that a special security guidelines will be uploaded at the website for the female community having complete information how they can contact the police and get the legal cover in case of any issue being faced by them i.e. property, domestic violence, workplace harassment and other injustices.

General public could get the benefit from the security tips of the upgraded website regarding the security of their houses, vehicles and during their traveling, shopping, banking and day to day activities.

The meeting also decided that in future the email IDs, contact numbers and photographs from IGP to DSP rank officers would also be available at the website, besides the seniority lists of the officers.

Decision regarding the expansion and replication of Criminal Tracking System in to 36 districts which was successfully operational in nine regions was also made in the meeting under which the collection of evidences from the crime scene could be preserved immediately. Finger prints and photographs of the criminals who were caught from the crime scene will also be uploaded at the website.

During the meeting, the IGP was told that computerisation of human resource management of Lahore police would be completed by the end of next week.

DIG IT Shahid Hanif, DIG Vigilance, Agha Yousaf, AIG Operations Waqar Abbasi, AIG Monitoring Waqas-ul-Hassan, AIG Finance Hussain Habib Imtiaz and other senior officer were also present in the meeting.
