Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Wednesday said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would equally benefit all the provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Inaugurating the new academic block at Khyber Medical University here, he said with the launch of projects under the CPEC, international investors would be attracted to the country. Some 35 billion dollars would be spent on energy projects, he added.
He said the people raising doubts or disputing the CPEC, in fact could not properly understand it. It was not a new motorway or a single road. It would contain more than one route. Disputing the project of high national interest would discourage the foreign investors, which would ultimately cost the country dearly, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the CPEC project was envisaged in consultation with all the political parties. It was not meant for a single province; rather the entire region would be benefited from it. None of the provinces are being ignored, he added.
Work on both the eastern and western routes was underway and the CPEC would be completed at all costs to fulfil the pledges made by the government for the country’s development, he added.
Earlier, addressing the Youth Development Seminar here, the minister said that the federal government would utilize all available resources for youth’s welfare. Educating the youth was must for the nation’s progress.
Development of human resources, he said, was among the top priorities of the government’s Vision 2025.He urged youth to focus on their studies to make Pakistan a developed country.
