Members of Special Committee of National Assembly on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Monday elected Zahid Hamid as chairman of the body with majority.
Naveed Qamar secured only five votes against Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid Minister.
The committee had asked PIA chairman to brief it on ten years performance in next meeting to be held on Jan 11.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman, Rana Afzal Khan, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Ejaz-ul-Haq, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Syed Naveed Qamar, Sabzada Tariullah, Dr G.G Jamal, Shaista Pervaiz, Asad Umar, Chairman PIA and Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubir.
Ishaq Dar said that PIA is a national institution and whole the nation wanted to improve its performance.
He said that all the suggestions of the committee would be implemented to improve the performance of the national carrier.
