Irfan Siddiqui made PM’s Advisor

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui was on Tuesday elevated to the status of Advisor and would head the newly created division of National History and Literary Heritage.

A notification in this regard was issued after President Mamnoon Hussain approved the summary forwarded by the prime minister for his appointment.

Another notification approved the creation of the new division of National History and Literary Heritage. The prime minister approved the notification of the division to oversee functioning of all the educational, literary, research, and historically important institutions.

These had previously been part of ministries including Information Ministry and Cabinet Division etc.

Pakistan Academy of Letters, Quaid-e-Azam Papers Wing, Urdu Dictionary Board, Urdu Science Board, National Language Authority, Quaid-e-Azam Academy, Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Iqbal Academy, Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum Management Board, Quaid-e-Azam Memorial Fund, National Book Foundation, Department of Archaeology and Museums and Shalimar Recording Company in addition to other institutions promoting national and regional languages have been placed under the new division.
