Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal has directed the Punjab Food Authority and district administrations to step up campaign against substandard and unhygienic food.
Presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday, he said that sale of substandard and unhygienic food cannot be allowed in any case. He maintained that crackdown on sellers of unhygienic and adulterated food would continue.
The chief secretary said that the drive against substandard food has been extended in the whole province and letters would be written to the administrations of those districts where performance is not up to the required level in this regard. He directed that provision of quality food to people be ensured at all cost.
The meeting was attended by Food Secretary Pervaiz Ahmad Khan, Punjab Food Authority DG Sajid Chohan, Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz and officers concerned.
