  • PPP leaders, workers pay tribute to party’s founder chairman for his invaluable services to country, welfare of poor

The 88th birth anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the founder chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former prime minister, was marked with great zeal and enthusiasm by a large number of PPP leaders, workers and people from all walks of life across the country on Tuesday.

In this connection, a Quran Khawani was arranged at the ancestral graveyard of Bhutto family in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh village where collective prayers were also offered for the departed soul.

PPP Larkana’s Acting President Khair Muhammad Shaikh, General Secretary Abdul Fateh Bhutto, Information Secretary Saleem Ahmed Soomro, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari, other PPP leaders Aijaz Leghari, Ms Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto, Nasibaan Channa, Dr Ghulam Sakina Gaad, Nasreen Soomro, Kaniz Fatima, Aijaz Leghari and a large number of party workers, students as well as people from all walks of life participated in the Quran Khawani. Charity food (langar) was also distributed among participants, needy and the poor.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah along with Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal, MPA Muhammad Ali Bhutto, Abdul Fateh Bhutto and other PPP leaders and workers upon his arrival at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh raised slogans of ‘zindha hai Bhutto zinda hai’. The CM and other leaders laid floral wreaths at the graves of ZA Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and other Bhutto family members and offered fateha.

Meanwhile, a function was arranged by the PPP Larkana chapter at Pakistan Arts Council Larkana where an 88-pound cake was cut to mark the 88th birth anniversary of ZA Bhutto.

Presided over by PPP-P Sindh President and CM Qaim Ali Shah, the ceremony was addressed by Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Suhail Anwar Siyal, Muhammad Ali Bhutto, Khair Muhammad Shaikh and Abdul Fateh Bhutto. The speakers paid tribute to ZA Bhutto for his invaluable services to the country and welfare of the poor.

A Quran Khanwani was also arranged at Al-Murtaza House in Larkana which was attended by leaders and workers of PPP. A cake was also cut to mark the birth anniversary of the former prime minister.

  1. It only is ceremonial now on. None from the Bhutto or Zardari family was present and for the first time. Even in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh the toothless CM Sind presided. Time to pack-up.
