Police recovered bomb and explosives from Hanjerwal bridge on Monday minutes after the convoy of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar drove past it.

Nawab Town area police were on usual patrolling when they searched the bridge on suspicion and recovered 10 kilogram bomb, 2.5 kg ball bearings and two gallons petrol along with a remote control. Initial investigation gives way to the doubts that it could be placed to harm the interior minister who crossed the bridge some time ago on his way to Islamabad.

Police have started the search and combing operation in the area to capture the culprits while also searching for the footage of CCTV cameras. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) operations said that the police party that discovered the explosives will be rewarded with prize and appreciation certificates.
