Police Monday handed over the three alleged dacoits, who were arrested on Sunday after an encounter’ to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) for interrogation.
The dacoits, including a woman, entered a house in Faisal Colony on Sunday and held the inmates hostage. The residents of the area informed the police, who reached the spot and cordoned off the house. The dacoits opened firing at the police, injuring three civilians including a cameraman of a private channel.
Reinforcement from ten city police stations reached the venue with an armoured vehicle. The surrounding houses were evacuated. The police took position on the rooftops and used teargas shells. The three dacoits were later were arrested in unconscious condition.
