Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiqul Farooq on Sunday requested the Punjab government for fast-track investigation into the November 25, 2015 Nankana Sahib incident to fix responsibly.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the incident was a serious matter and he had written to the provincial government for an inquiry.

Some elements desecrated Janamasthan Baba Guru Nanak, a sacred place for Sikhs, and held a federal minister with other guests hostage, besides disturbing security arrangements made for the Sikh pilgrims, he said.

He urged the provincial government to take strict action against the officials of district administration and police, who had failed to perform their duties properly.

Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Sardar Shaam Sing, Secretary Board Ikramul Haq and other officials were also present at the press conference.
