PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi Sunday said that Orange Line train is running on the lines of corruption and no train running on corruption may get home.
Terming the Orange Line project as ‘dollar train’ project, he said that the company awarded with the contract has no experience in railways.
Addressing a press conference at his residence, he said that the rulers of Punjab are crippling the economy of the province. “Punjab is under a debt of Rs 1000 billion. Orange Line train is in fact a train of corruption,” he said.
The PML-Q leader revealed that the company awarded with the contract for Orange Line train has no experience of completing such projects. He appealed to the people of Punjab to rise against this project and requested the courts to take suo moto notice of the issue.
Reacting to Pervaiz Elahi’s statement, Punjab government Spokesman Zaeem Qadri has said that every project of former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi’s tenure is full of corruption, loot and plunder.
He said that Pervaiz Elahi is disliking the projects started for the welfare of common man. He said that by opposing the projects of public welfare, Pervaiz is showing narrow-mindedness.
Qadri said that in the opposition of Shehbaz Sharif, Pervaiz Elahi has started showing his enmity to people. He said that schemes of Pervaiz Elahi’s tenure were only on papers while PML-N government is completing public welfare projects through practical steps. He further said that every project of the Punjab government is an example of transparency. Despite opposition by Pervaiz Elahi, hundreds of of people are benefitting from metro bus, Zaeem Qadri concluded.
