As many as four children, who were admitted to civil hospital on, died on Sunday because of non-availability of oxygen.
According to parents, some 15 child patients suffering from different diseases were admitted to the hospital. Due to their precarious condition, they all needed administration of oxygen, but there was no such arrangement in place in the hospital. Four children expired while the rest were also in critical condition, they added.
They said they had complained to the hospital’s medical superintendent, but in vain. They were poor and had no option but to admit their children at such a government hospital lacking basic medical facilities, the parents added.
