An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted the provincial capital Peshawar, Swat and surrounding areas but no causality or property loss was reported.
According to geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) tremor measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale was felt in Peshawar, Swat and other surrounding areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
People of the areas where the earthquake was felt rushed out of their homes in panic reciting verses from the Holy Quran. However, no human or property loss was reported as the result of the quake.
