Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister for Information Maula Bux Chandio said on Thursday that the Sindh government would have to swallow a bitter pill of extension to Rangers powers but the issue between federal and Sindh governments could not be resolved with threats. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan people’s Party (PPP) should also resolve their problems with mutual understanding, he added.

He was addressing media men during his visit to Karachi Press Club for congratulating KPC’s newly-elected body. He said the PPP never opposed extension to Rangers powers for controlling the criminal activities. The joint operation of Rangers and Sindh police had restored peace in Karachi, Chandio said. He said the PPP had not opposed the Karachi operation as the chief minister and all others had supported the Karachi operation, so the law enforcement agencies (LEA) should continue their operational activities.

Chandio said the federal government should respect the mandate of the provinces. He said the PPP respected the mandate of MQM in Karachi and both of the parties should work jointly for betterment of the province.

He said some political gypsies did not like democracy in the country. He said the federal government could get the advantage of articles regarding Rangers powers but it would create chaos between the federation and Sindh government. He said the Sindh government would welcome Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Sindh.

  1. Chameleons are famous for changing colors with situations and so are the politicians. Only last week he had thrown abuses and threats to Ch Nisar and Central Government. Now since the remote controlled CM Sind has returned back from Islamabad empty handed, they all are changing tones. But the Central Government has to be on guard so far as the Wadera is sitting in the comforts of Dubai and dictating the Sind Government.
