The federal government has decided not to promote senior bureaucrats allegedly involved in corruption and has tasked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to scrutinize all officials whose promotion is due, well-placed sources have informed Pakistan Today.
Some 80 Grade-21 officials will be promoted after getting clearance from NAB and FIA, said sources, adding that the Cabinet Division has directed NAB and FIA to submit their reports in this regard.
The sources said that 78 officials have been cleared by the investigating agencies while a probe is underway for the two remaining officers.
