Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday said his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi demonstrated goodwill by undertaking Lahore visit on December 25.
“Disputes between Pakistan and India must be resolved and there is a hope that Pak-India relations will not deteriorate,” the premier said while talking to reporters after performing the groundbreaking of two vital road arteries as part of Western Corridor of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He said Narendra Modi had paid a goodwill visit to Pakistan which will help pave the way for resolving bilateral issues. The PM said in case both sides played a positive part, the process of negotiations would not derail. He underscored the need for national leadership to come together for the resolution of issues and progress of Pakistan.
PM Sharif also lauded role of the media in the recent thaw in relations between Pakistan and India.
Earlier, addressing a gathering attending the groundbreaking of Western Corridor of CPEC, the PM said a lot of major world issues were resolved through talks and the process of Pak-India dialogue is all set to go underway once again.
