Army chief General Raheel Sharif met Assistant Defence Minister for Saudi Military Affairs Muhammad Bin Abdullah Al-Ayish who called on him at the GHQ in Rawalpindi on Thursday and discussed regional security besides other issues.

“During the meeting, matters related to regional security and bilateral defence collaboration including training exchanges came under discussion,” according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

On November 4, in a meeting with Chief of General Staff A Reham Bin Saleh during a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, General Raheel reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the safety and protection of Haramain Sharifain, and the territorial integrity of the kingdom.

Reciprocating, Saudi King Prince Salman had assured the army chief that any threat to Pakistan’s integrity would be unacceptable.

General Raheel held the same stance on October 30 during a visit to a joint exercise of the two forces in Jhelum, saying any threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia will evoke a strong response from Pakistan.
