PM vows to end load shedding during PML-N’s tenure

 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vowed on Tuesday that load shedding will be eliminated during the present government’s tenure.

He was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the renovated building of the General Post Office Murree on Tuesday.

The prime minister said that the promises of development made to the people of Murree would be fulfilled during the next two and half years.

He announced the construction of a hospital and a university for the area. Both will be equipped with modern machinery and facilities.

Nawaz Sharif said that a water supply plan has been prepared for the area, and the shortage in this regard will be overcome. He also directed concerned to ensure the supply of gas to every house in Murree.

The prime minister said he himself would supervise development projects in Murree and ensure that the required funds are provided.

Referring to the programme of restoring the natural beauty of Murree, he said the renovated building of Murree is a model for other historical heritage buildings in the area. He said that the heritage of Mall Road Murree would be protected.

While at the event, the prime minister was briefed about the GPO building. The GPO Murree building has been restored to its original form after renovation i.e. what it looked like in 1930.

The restoration of the building is part of the prime minister’s package to beautify the natural beauty of Murree, and it is a gift for the residents and the tourists.

Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Murree reviewed development projects in Murree.

It was attended by Federal Ministers, Pervaiz Rashid, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.

Hamza Shahbaz and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Asif Kirmani were also present in the meeting.
